It’s heartbreaking, infuriating, and demoralizing to want to work and feel…stuck. Stuck because it seems like there is never a win/win option. We’re either sacrificing our careers entirely, “geo-batching” or doing something we aren’t overly passionate about just to keep relevant in the professional space.
BUT…
What we’ve learned is that the country is seeing our struggles as military families and resources to help are starting to take off, largely thanks to organizations like Blue Star Families. Truly an opportunity for a win/win situation is now achievable! Back in 2014 a new solution for connecting military spouses with tech jobs was founded, and that is Salesforce Military.
What is Salesforce Military?
Straight from the source – “Salesforce is a software as a service (SaaS) business used by 90% of Fortune 500 companies. Salesforce Military is a Salesforce department for veterans by veterans. We get active military, veterans, and spouses the classes, certifications, and support they need for successful tech careers.”

Angela had zero tech experience prior to signing up for Salesforce Military, but was motivated for the same reasons many of us are – she wanted a job that could move with her.

Do I need a degree?
Sure don’t, you don’t need a degree on any previous tech experience to excel in their program. Come as you are and they’ll set you up for success!
Does this mean I’ll work in sales?
Nope! The goal of this training is to lead military spouses and veterans to jobs in the technology industry (and don’t let that intimidate you – you definitely do not need to be a “techie” to do this gig).
