An OCONUS (Outside the Continental U.S.) move can feel overwhelming, daunting, and scary. But I promise, the fears are worth it when you have all of Europe and the rest of the world at your fingertips to explore. When we received orders to PCS to RAF Mildenhall in the United Kingdom, I was filled with anxiety at the thought of living in another country and being an ocean away from my family. I hope this guide provides tips and excitement for the incredible adventure that you are about to embark on!

The RAF Mildenhall 100th PCS & Welcome Guide is a project of the 100 ARW and maintained by the 100 FSS Marketing Team. I just want to pin this resource below because it is a GREAT checklist that outlines Before Arrival, Upon Arrival, After Arrival and Out-Processing. You can take advantage of using it as soon as you receive orders to RAF Mildenhall.

Things to know about RAF Mildenhall

Living in the UK has deepened my love for adventure and appreciation for community and meaningful friendships. There is rarely a boring day living overseas as long as you’re willing to step outside your comfort zone and take advantage of this incredible opportunity!

I’m not going to lie – I was very nervous about moving overseas. While living here, I have appreciated how easy it is to travel and have fully embraced the opportunity to live outside of my comfort zone.
