Welcome to Panama City, also known as a part of the Emerald Coast! Tyndall Air Force Base is such a great place and is working on becoming the “base of the future” as some might say! After being hit by hurricane Michael in 2018, they have been rebuilding the base back to its beautiful coastal glory! Tyndall is just 12 miles from the well known Panama City Beach and just 65 miles from Destin! Tyndall is known for 325th Fighter Wing, 337th ACS, 1st Air Force, 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group and the 601st Air Operations Center and the new home of the F-35s! Panama City is no stranger to Military bases as we have the NSA-Panama City base for the navy right up the road and a quick drive to Eglin, Hurlburt, and Naval Air Station in Pensacola. The locals here are very respectful and appreciative of the military community, within weeks I felt at home here!
Things to know about Tyndall Air Force Base
I would encourage you to become a “local” by going to local events and meeting new people! Since we moved here, I have found my favorite local coffee shop, The Press; going to local events put on by Destination PC such as LUXE art festival and Tourist appreciation day; and shopping at Target!
