Fort Drum is a well-rounded duty station with four seasons, slower-paced local life, and lots of outdoor opportunities. If you aren’t “an autumn”, you will become one! The North Country truly shows off and comes to life in the fall. Everyone thrives off of the changing leaves, pumpkins, and apple cider. The same goes for snow. It’s such an experience to go through a Drum winter with the lake effect snow! Take a walk out in the snowstorm when all is quiet and the plows haven’t come around yet. It is so peaceful and calming. As with any base, it is what you make of it!

Embracing the cold and snow! Became a big fan of wine slushies, too!
