Okay, if I’m being honest, I have really surprised myself by how chill I have felt during this pregnancy. As y’all know by now, I’m pretty boisterous and over the top about most things in life. But both with my wedding and now with my pregnancy, I have been really humbled and mellowed by the blessings of both of those two life events. Y’all, I had nursery inspo pictures on my phone when I was 17 years old! So naturally, I imagined that when it came to nesting, I would be so here for it. Well, that was not the case. I think it was a combo of living in a cutie little cottage sized house (aka not enough space for baby goodies everywhere) and the understanding that we will likely PCS in the next year and I have no idea what my next space will look like! Instead, now I am proud of the affordable (read: TMO safe) furniture I got and the hand-me-downs that I accepted!
Whether you are currently decorating your dream nursery or trying to get by with what you can until you are more settled, I hope this gives you some great inspo!
The two pieces I knew I wanted from the beginning was the Hemnes dresser from Ikea and a wooden name sign. I’ve known so many other momma’s who have gotten the Hemnes dresser and man do I see why! It’ll transfer so well into any room after we are done using it as a changing table and provides a ton of storage space! Bonus for you tall mommas, it is on the taller side so less chance for back aches from bending over while changing a little one. Then there is the name sign *praise hands* My sister had one of these gorgeous name signs for both of her babies. I loved them so much that I knew I wanted one when my time came. A fellow WAF and her husband own The Cedar Poppy and create the most amazing wooden signs for nurseries (and for so many other occasions!). I couldn’t recommend them enough, they made creating this design so easy and fun. The best part was seeing my husbands eyes get so excited when he opened it up, he absolutely loves it!
