Everyone brags about how great military family benefits are (which we agree, they are!), but no one talks about how complicated getting enrolled in them can be. We’re here to help simplify the process. If you’re not enrolled in TRICARE or are not sure what TRICARE plan you need start with THIS post. If you’re here because you have that setup but need to get your dental coverage taken care of next, you’re in good hands. Let’s do this!
The absolute best place to start for military family members is HERE. That page will walk you through step by step what you need to do to get enrolled in the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP). We also have some common questions answered below to review before you get started.
Will I have to pay a premium?
You will, and there isn’t a flat rate that we can give you because it varies by service member’s military status (active duty, reserve, etc.) and type of plan you’re enrolling in (single person, family, etc.)
You can review all of the cost breakdowns HERE.
Who is eligible?
- Family member of an active duty service member.
- Family member of a National Guard/Reserve member.
- National Guard/Reserve Member who isn’t on active duty or covered by the Transitional Assistance Management Program (TAMP).
- You get active duty dental benefits if you’re on active duty orders for more than 30 days or covered by TAMP.
