When the military drops those PCS orders, whether you’re excited about them or not, it’s time to start prepping and planning for the upcoming move. One of the biggest hurdles you’ll have to jump right away is finding a place to live, and we are thrilled to share about a resource that can help, not only because they’re knowledgeable but also because they’ve walked this same road themselves!

What is VeteranPCS?

VeteranPCS was founded in 2021 after CEO and helicopter pilot veteran, Jason, left active duty and became a realtor. Similar to how WAFs got its start, Jason saw that military families were struggling to locate trusted realtors who understood the complications that come with military moves, so he created a resource to do just that – connect military families to trusted military spouse- and veteran-realtors!

Since then, VeteranPCS has not only given back more than $250,000 to military families through closing bonuses but it has also grown to offer more than 300 agents and mortgage lenders who are military spouses or veterans and VA Loan experts.

How much does it cost?

Nothing! Seriously, it’s free to use if you’re active duty military, a military spouse, serving in the National Guard or Reserve, or a military veteran. Not only is the service free for you to use, BUT after closing, you are eligible to receive $200-$4,000 back as a move-in bonus to help with moving costs. VeteranPCS also donates 10% to a veteran or military nonprofit/charity.

VeteranPCS takes a percentage of any commission an agent earns for purchases or sales consummated through VeteranPCS as a referral fee, which is what helps fund the site and services offered.

In addition to the free agent and lender connection service offered, VeteranPCS also offers some other helpful military move resources at absolutely no cost to you: VA Loan Guide and First Time Home Buyer’s Guide

How does this work / what’s the catch?

There’s no catch, only simplicity (which TBH is exactly what we all need during the military home-buying process).

You can view the agent and lender options available in your area on the VeteranPCS interactive map! Once you’ve found one you’re interested in, simply click the “Get in Contact” button and fill out a form to connect with that agent. You can contact and interview multiple agents and, ultimately, decide who you want to work with (or if you’d rather not work with any of them at all!)

With military life, we’ve learned to control what we can and simplify as many processes as possible. We are so grateful for resources like VeteranPCS that make simplifying such a complicated process like home-buying possible. Be sure to check out VeteranPCS.com for more information and follow them on @veteranpcs social media so you’re connected when those inevitable (and 99% of the time, inconvenient) military orders are dropped in your lap!
